Cichlid pond leaking, almost time to bring them in anyway

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Great Catch Duane, and awesome idea!! Too bad my wife wont allow me to have swimming pools of fish;) maybe once i move to florida....:) How many Beani made it? are you selling any?

There were only 2 beani in the pond, the one that survived is maybe 8".
I'd hesitate to ship one that size, because I just wouldn't feel I could guarantee it, but if you were passing thru Milwaukee I'd consider it.
By the way, my wife wouldn't approve either, but I guess that's why I'm divorced.

I always wanted to do one for my sa but the wife would kill me. I heard that sunlight helps their color.

I find that a summer outside brightens fish colors up quite a bit.
I'm not sure if its the sun, or the diet of algae, insect larvae and fresh insect adults, or a combination of all.
By the way, I never feed in while they are out in the pond, other than an occasional worm I find on the sidewalk after a rain, of dead or injured insect that crosses my path.
Could be tadpoles too, there have been a number of bullfrogs turning up the last few years.

Closed down the goldfish/koi pond today, now they're all in the intex.

Last year when I picked up the koi and goldfish at the local aquarium society auction, the koi was about 3", the goldfish just over 1", when I pulled the koi out today, it was over 12".
