Behind you
ok, i want to add 1 kind of south american cichlid to my silver arowana tank, something that grows fairly large (at least maybe 10" or so) and is not overly aggressive nor territorial. so what do you guys suggest? i bought a tiger oscar yesterday and tried to add it to my tank. after i ate my dinner, i checked the tank and saw the oscar chasing my flag tail. and i'm like wtf? i almost threw the oscar out the window but then realized it was bad. lol, so now he lives in a 15G (solitary confinement) until someone wants him.

Where do you live?

I think most large cichlids will be like that.

Just depends I guess. My Oscar is chill just minds his own business, he actually gets bullied by my rainbow shark. I think its funny the rainbow is like 4.5 inchs the oscar has already grown 1 inch this month. Soon he will be 8 - 10 inches and I look forward to seeing the rainbow attempt to pick on him.

My 4" rainbow shark (i've had him for almost 2 years now so i believe he'd already stopped growing a while ago) still chases my two 6"-8" bulky bala sharks for fun!

Severums or earth eaters

I too have a similar question:

Can I keep a tiny (1-2 inch) Oscar with a little Silver Aro (6-7 inches) without any of them troubling each other?

I just saw this 2 inch Oscar at a Local Fish Store close to my home. It is jet black and at least currently has no markings at all. The store guy says it will eventually get red/orange markings,

I had a strange urge to buy it (it's about 1 USD), but I didn't because I know it can't be kept with my Fancy Goldfish and I am not keeping it with my prized Silver Aro before confirming with you experts if this is going to be OK?

So, what do you think?

Probably would be fine, but both fish grow big quick and your tank is small.
