It's interesting to me that some rushed to the presumption that there were regular water changes just because the fish was healthy and looking good. Too many people assume there are strict rules as it relates to this hobby and there really aren't. There are just solid guidelines you should try to adhere to.

So what are you saying?
 
Well I've got him home now, hes in a bucket acclimating as we speak. The tank was filthy, after i got him out i had to replace some of the water and a big cloud of detritus flew up everywhere. Im tempted to go back this afternoon and give it a clean.

Thats a 6" net, I didnt realise he was that big.

He looks happy now. What a good looking fish.
 
Brasiliensis are under rated on their beauty, I think becuase the color up so late in their life. When you see them in the LFS, they are small and a plain brown. Given time though, they are a stunning fish.
