i have some cichlid stones in my tanks and my cichlids NEVER go in them... they dont even sleep in them... for those of you who have cichlids who use them is there any special way you align them and set them up? or is it just a matter of my fish's taste

I was going to get these but they seem like a waste of time. I would just stack them like any other rocks. They probably feel comfortable if they are out and about. don't worry yourself.
the rocks and caves we use and make are to make our fish more secure... to have a place to go when something spooks them, the more places they have to get away to, the more they will stay out where you can see them
Maybe put a little food in there.But keep an eye on it.As to not have it bloom nastiness in your tank.
Can you put a pic up because I have no idea of what you all are talking about referring to cichlid rocks. Are they just normal rocks used for decor or for homing. ?????? But in any case just make them feel comfortable with cover areas

ahh.... natural is best.... i wouldnt put to much faith in plastic caves vs slate..... i bet if you filled your tank with slate you would get what your looking for
