Cichlid that got bullied

I have one of these in my tank.. found him getting picked on and bullied

I put him in a breeding net in the same tank so he wouldn't get picked on as i have no quarantine tank available (the quarantine has 15 yellow fry in it at the moment)

well he's still alive as i was able to catch it early but now the beating he took is very much apparent.
his tail fin has been nipped and now just before the fin it's all red and now looks a little fuzzy...

I did a water change on the tank, i use aquarium salt after each water change..
is there anything i can do?

Keep it away from aggressors and maintain good water quality, it will likely heal up shortly

The red edge of the fin sounds worrisome. If you were able to QT i'd say get some preventative antibiotics in there, but if not maybe consider treating the whole tank with pima/melafix?
 
+1 on the melafix... i had a fusco tear up his fins and rip off a ton of scales, the melafix has done wonders in the last two days
 
If it's actually an infection or fungus you need real meds rather than pima or melafix
