Cichlid that got bullied

If it's actually an infection or fungus you need real meds rather than pima or melafix

True, though the red edge could be only irritation/inflamation unrelated to an infection that may or may not be present. Melafix may help, and no it will not harm the rest of the tank unless you have some super sensitive inverts in there. I know Japonicas and the couple Macrobrachium sp. I've had weren't bothered by it.

I don't know how much they cost in your area, but LFS here sells 10gal blank tanks for 12 bucks. I'd say that's a worthwhile investment. Put the fry in whichever QT/Breeder is smaller. Is usually a good idea to keep a sponge filter or two seeded in the main tank/sump (i keep 3 running in my african tank's sump for various fry tanks or qt) so you don't have to freak as bad when something goes wrong.

Well the little didn't make it
Came home from work and he was doin alright, checked on him about 30 minutes later and well he decided to commit suicide and jumped out of the breeder net into the rest of the tank and well the other cichlids tore the rest of his tail fin right off and he died shortly after.
