Cichlids and Oscars

African Cichlids in with American Cichlids .... !

They have different PH requirements Oscars have a more neutral PH of about 7.0, Lake Malawi and Lake Victoria have a pH between 7.4 and 8.6 Lake Tanganyika cichlids 7.8 to 9.0

Your are gonna end up shortening your fishes life span.

you dont have to adjust their pH differently just put them in the water you get out of the tap
 
I belive it is the change in pH which is bad for them. Most fish can adapt to different water parameters without a problem. Breeding however, is a differnt story.
