cichlids and slugs

I don't how well your guys will be able to eat slugs, it depends on the size of the fish and the size of the slugs. Also theres other things to consider such as contamination since I'm not aware of any wholesale of slugs I'm assuming you're gonna get them from your garden.

I'd Listen to Special K over there...

My fish wouldnt even look at slugs, its their slimy coating the fish HATE it! so go with worms from the garden instead!

hey i live in a free country, u can do what ever u want, but im sure youll find your fish wont like the slime.

Well i tossed in some slugs a few days ago and my fish loved them! They didnt seem to have any trouble gobbling them down.

You can feed them whatever they will eat, just don't make it their only food source. Of course you are taking a risk any time you introduce live food.

My Oscars have baby green tree frogs from time to time so why not slugs, my only problem would be introducing diseases, I get my frogs off a lady I work with. She breeds them for the local pet store and gives me any extras that the store doesn't want and she cant sell in the paper. Her only form of payment is getting to watch the oscars eat them, sicko.

i'm not sure, but i always was under the assumption that slugs were poisonous

Common slugs aren't poisonous. They're a food source for birds, fish and small snakes. Some sea slugs are very poisonous.
