ok thanks for the ideas what is the very best cichlid, with aggression and how long do you think i could keep it again thanks alot

green terror cichlid mean as heck.

1 oscar in a 55 gallon. could be in there for life too.

a bunch of keyholes would be nice. add some livebearers so the keyholes can have some treats whenever the livebearers have babies. jewel cichlids are nice...any dwarf cichlids really. there are many possibilities

I really think a oscar should be in a 75 MINIMUM. go with a single male green terror.

I agree the oscar should be in a 75 gallon, not 55. The 55 is 12" wide, so essentially you should be able to have any fish that does not get over 10" in there for life. I vote to stock the tank with 2 green Severums and a Senegal Bichir. I think that would be a good looking tank, even though sevs aren't that aggressive. A single male green terror would be my second choice.

I'd go for the Oscar, just because it seems to piss off so many people.:screwy:

oscars can do good in a 55 for life
