I'd go for the Oscar, just because it seems to piss off so many people.:screwy:
 Doesn't piss me off. I just state my opinion, the person can do what they want.

oscars can do good in a 55 for life
I bet it's funny watching the oscar turn in the 55 when it's full grown. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

thank you all i dont know what im going to get yet (still got till christmas)

A Red Tail Cat fish would fit nicely into a 55g ;)

Put a nice shoal of like 45 little silver dollars and a pair of pacu with your oscar. It will be great come water change you will be able to do 50 percent waterchange and only carry one bucket.

But seriously I had a 72 bow with a pair of sajica, a pair of rainbow cichlids, a pair of firemouths and a group of like 6-10 swordtails. In a 55 I would maybee drop on pair of cichlids or the swordtails. It a real rewarding tank and all the fish can stay in it for life COMFORTABLY.

Wouldn't that be a 'fish change' rather than a water change? lolol

Throw a mix of compressiceps in there....a bunch of them...and a pack of 6-8 clown loaches. The comp's could probably live in there for life. They are a very cool and colorful cichlid that doesnt get huge...but you need to be patient to allow there colors to come out.

A tank of comps and clown loaches...bout 6-8 of each species. And thats it.

I always like mayan cihclids, they're nice fish and can get some good colors but that seems to vary from fish to fish.

It seems he posted in the CA/SA section..

To the op, when you stated aggression, are you wanting or not wanting it? If it was a single fish tank, it wouldn't really matter...
