cichlids for a 125.

I'm going to be in the same boat but have some fish allready.

My plans for fish are as follows. I would like to have the tank for only a couple fish but I believe I need to spread the aggresion out.

1 GT (about 6-7"s)
1 JD (big....maybe 8 or even 9"s)
2 Severums(I hope they are tough enough)
A few male convicts
2 texas.....gotta make sure they don't form a breeding pair.
1 Oscar......I have never had an oscar so I figure why not if I go for a 180 instead of the 125g.

^ ya breeding texas are nasty :nilly: ! nearly killed my female jag and had my BadA$$ Flowerhorn on a stretcher. litteraly he was just floatin on his side but i nursed him back to health.

As for large_cichlids. I wouldn't do four unless they are all the same sex becauz it didnt work out for me i got two pairs when i didnt want any lol. As stated b4 put your RD in there he will love the space. maybe with some cats!
 
My 125 has:

2 female JDs
1 Male Convict
1 Mota
1 Black Belt
1 Oscar

The Oscars been getting picked on, I might trade him and one of the JDs in for a Salvini.

Ive recently started keeping single specimen tanks (thought I wouldn't be into it) and am happy with it. Really increases the pet-likeness<--- (ya I know its not a word) of the fish
