I have had my cichlids for 5 months, bought them as fry. In the past 2 weeks, I have had a bunch die and only recently realized what is causing the deaths. What should I get to help the rest live?

Symptoms:
- yellow green hue on their side, where the stomach is located.
- swimming upside down
- swimming upside right under the surface.

Fish:
P acei ( only these are dying )
Yellow lab

What was the problem that you realized?

What are the water parameters?

The symptoms are to problem I noticed, then the fish dies within the day it is swimming upside down.

Symptoms:
- yellow green hue on their side, where the stomach is located.
- swimming upside down
- swimming upside right under the surface

Water parameters I don't know off hand would have to do a test now. I want to do another large water change today, so after that I would do the test/

What are you feeding them? I once bought some bulk food from ebay and feed it to my cichlids. After a really long time of losing fish i realized the food was the problem. Once they are upside down, its pretty much too late. Quick cure is my goto for problems in the fish tank.

Feeding them strictly, HBH Natural 8 Veggie Flake

I did have my water temp drop to the 60's for a couple of weeks when my heater wouldn't work. Now its back to the regular temps of high 70's.

Youre saying I shouldn't treat them? It has to be something internal that causes them to have the yellow coloration on their side and float upside down.

What disease do they have? That is the question. Without knowing what they have how can you treat it? Large daily water changes are always good for sick fish.

get new fish. if they are upside down they will prolly die. sorry dude. something is wrong with your water,
