Cichlids in a 39 Tall

So I have a 39 Tall to stock and I'm wondering what or if any south or centrals I can house in the tank for life. I'm not really to hip on the smaller cichlids and don't want to start keeping africans just yet? Any suggestions or should i just just this bad boy as a sump?

Tall tanks are good for angels and discus

Discus??? What type would you recommend and how many? I think my wife would like them.

What are the other dimensions? You could also keep apisto's with a shoal of small dithers.

Might be a bit small for adult discus, but a pair of angels and some tetras would make a lovely tank.

yeah i dont think thats quite big enough for discus, would be a cool angelfish tank though, but yeah other dimensions would be helpful but yeah there isnt much that can go in that tank in terms of the non-dwarf new worlds
