cichlids in saltwater

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have read of synslipum, black belts, convicts and some tilapia species venturing into salt water. i also have an older book that says Mayan cichlids spread throughout CA along the coasts (this includes spawnign in salt water).

i have raised a few types of fry in brine water as well (my FRT tank is pretty salty). trimacs, motas, convicts, red devilswithout problems.

hmm... you would think the CA coastal waters would be too cold for Mayan cichlids

I am not saying there are chcilds, just that they are all together with in a large family or genuis or species I guess what I am trying to say they are in a large classification with in a classification within a classification within a classification untill they are seprated ... I know I am confusing...
