Cichlids, lobsters, and disease

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok well I started treatment tonight so I am crossing my fingers. My fish didn't freak out or anything and are looking good. I just treat the tank fir 10 days or as long as it takes to get rid of disease? Also will this take care of the disease that makes thier eyes a milky coloration?

The cloudy eyes are a result of poor water conditions due to lack of filtration thereof which is why I suggested daily water changes until you sort that filtration.

No, don't turn off the bubblers. Just address the cloudy eye issue with daily water changes and redosing of salt for the ich problem.

its really not a good idea to mix the africans with the new world american cichlids

there are multiple reasons not to do it and they are at 2 ends of the PH scale

Folks, please stay on topic. That's another issue we can resolve later on.

well it is a very big bio load.... what tank size and what is the filtration on it? fin rot often points to poor water quality. the salt will help, but you really need to get to the source and fix that.....

I happen to get the fish from a local fish store with the fin but didnt become noticable until 4 days after. I went back to the store and all were infected in that tank. The reason I am having such a problem is because my glass 140 gallon tank sprung a leak and so my fish had to live in an ice chest for a day and a half. That put them under a lot of strees and to top it off the new 180 gallon acrylic tank that i bouhgt cant use my H.O.B. filters so my fish and I are screwed until I get my new sump(hopefully this weekend). Just so you know I appreciate your concern for my fish but they dont need an attorny for a violation of there right to be healthy and happy. I wont have a problem with there health aslong as I keep them stress free and get a damn sump up and runing. I have had no problem with them for 8 months!!!!! Now back to the topic of my sick fish. Gosh.
