I have never dealt with him but I think the owner used to be a member here.

You'll see them referred to as "COTA" and as "Rapps / Jeff Rapps".
I think everyone at MFK would agree that COTA and Rapps are "reputable vendors". You're getting what they say you're getting when you order from them. I've never had any fish die in shipment from either of these 2 vendors.
That's pretty incredible when you stop to think of it....reliably shipping live fish around the US like that. Strange times we live in.

One thing I can say: Jeff Rapps is awesome... great guy, super busy but yet always replies back. If I wasn't financially strapped I'd buy from him a lot.
Nothing but good things to say about CotA. Dan was super responsive to all emails, fish was healthy after going from Florida to Far Northern California. Like almost Oregon haha. When I was gonna do a salvini tank he was absolutely ready to pick the ones with my desired traits.
he's not asking about Rapps. He's asking about cichlidsof Americas.

I ordered from COTA once, fast responses to emails and beautiful stock. The only thing I kind of have beef with is the minimum order but I've also heard he is lenient about it, I guess I should have been a bit more pushy
I have ordered from both COTA and Jeff Rapps. I will say, Jeff took alittle more time to talk to me about what I was ordering and answered the questions I had. Where as Dan was Abit more streamlined and business oriented.
However both experiences where positive and I would gladly order from either of them again.
