very nice, mine is only at like 2-2.5 inches. but i got him as a very small juvenille size. mine looks simalr to yours, not quite as bright yet. Do the females look different?

Yup....that's a Neolamp Pulcher (aka Daffodil) which is in the Brichardi complex. They can be some of the most aggressive of the Lake Tangs and can definitely hold their own against Mbunas.

Do so with caution....you never know what kind of behavior you will see when you mix Lakes/Ecosystems. Keep in mind that these fish are often called "Brichardi Death Squad" and can be brutal to tankmates. On the flipside I've also seen them like puppies in a community...suppose it depends on the temperament of the fish.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be doing quite a bit of research before I attempt to mix Tangs with Malwais. Most of my current stock is well behaved so that may be a downside, need someone to make sure they stay in line.
