Cichlids suitable for a 30 gallon tank?

Most of the balloon dwarfs I've seen at my LFS have been Rams, beautiful choice and very placid, well fit for a 30 gallon, though they are sensetive to water quality.

i would not recommend a common pleco for a 30 gallon tank now that i have one. ive had him for a year and he is 9 inches long and i need to get rid of him in the next few months.

my convicts bred in a 10 gallon quarantine needless to say they probably wouldn't be healthy growing up in one.....
