And green terrors and festae are both from the pacific coast of south america, not the Amazon basin or river.

im not going for 100% authenticity, i just want the tank to look natural

Not trying to be a dick (though it'll probably seem that way) the Amazon is something like 4,000 miles and contains pretty much every type of freshwater habitat in the world, from white water rapids through slow moving blackwater and on to estuarial and tidal bores. That covers a huge range of fish environments. You might want to narrow it down to a particular type of "Amazonian" tank to get more practical suggestions.

Jack Dempseys look amazing when full grown. Severums look nice , Discus's look great too, Jags are aggressive.

well for me i have some dwarf acaras and a bumblee bee catfish and some cories and 2 schools of different tetras and a dwarf pike compers.?. in a planted tank and it is lovely to watch all in a 55g tankthey are all south american except my hrp. and the cichlids all fight (or are aggresive) they were fin nipping when i first added them but now they have their hierarchy set up so thats all done. actually gunna pull all the plants out and do a full vac and re aquascape it after i get off here. but post pictures of ur tank and well tell u what would look good.

south american preditors. hum why not caquetaia kraussi, spectabills, myersi? maybe crenicichla johanna.

i did my best to get a picture but the plants didnt come out very well nor did the branches coming into the tank, it looks 20x better in person

Wow! Personally I think that's an amazing tank. I don't know of any fish besides previously mentioned ones for your tank but I just had to comment on the beauty of your tank! And if it's 20x better in person, then 20xAmazing=?
