Those are some sweet pics and subjects. They even have female Dovii in there.I wonder if there is any carnage when they breed? Thanks for sharing..

Thanks. I forgot to mention, and this is not there in the pictures that I posted: there were atleast ~10 (most likely more) "nests" of doviis, midas, and jaguars! And, these many spawns are *always* there each time I visit - I did not see a whole lot of fighting, only pairs defending their fry in their own area. I didn't observe any torn fins.

They even have female Dovii in there.

There are 3 male doviis and probably thrice as many females! Each male had spawned with more than one females, and was freely allowed to enter in each one's territory. For example, see the pic below (not very clear) closely and you will see some fry:

And a few more females, where it is not clear (that they are guarding fry):

In this pic below, if you look closely behind the jag you will see a female with fry:

No one mentioned the how sweet the Black Belt is. I love those beasts. Did you get any sharper pictures of him?

I could only get a few (below), which are not all that great. I agree, they are quite amazing.

nice development. last time I was there, the tank just had babies (no big cichlids).

awsome ,how big is this tank and how big are those fishes for example teh dovii male??

I am really very bad when it comes to estimating sizes - I think the male dovii (all of them 'looked' the same size) was probably 15".
