So do bichirs.I've had an evil bichir-Anne

I've kept a P. delhezi, P. palmas polli, P. palmas buttikoferi and P. ornatipinnis for 2-3 years with cichlids such as large red devils, large red terrors, a full grown male P. zonatus, large bifasciatus, etc. right now they are with the 10" zonatus, 3 5-6" bifasciatus, a 4-5" V. argentea and a 7" red devil and have been with them for a little over a year. none of these cichlids have ever looked twice at the bichirs. the only time I had any problems were when I also had a breeding pair of Honduran red points with the bichirs and other cichlids. the palmas polli kept getting too close to the spawning ground and the bichir lost an eye. since then I'll never keep them with breeding cichlids but in a community of cichlids I've had no problems at all.
