I personally would not keep discus in a house you don't live in, even if you are the only person maintaining the tank. If you stay with your Grandma I'd say go for it. They are nice fish. You can keep small cichlids like bolivian or German blue or gold rams. Clown Loaches (bigger tank needed) and other schooling fish like rummynoses or other tetras.
