Hey, fish-folks!

I didn't know what are of the cichlid forums to post this, so I'll ask here.

I've got a 125g that I've set up in what will be my baby's nursery and wanted to stock it with bright, colorful african cichlids.

My wife loved the idea and went out and surprised me with a yellow lad, EB johanni and another that was sold to her as a bumblebee cichlid, and lastly one that I can only describe as patterned similarly to a giraffe.

Since I didn't have a chance to do any research, I need to know if they are compatible, and if so, what can I add to the stock? Also, what can be added for bottom activity.

BTW, the tank is set up with sand at the bottom, flat rocks set up in ledges and caves, and a few larger pieces of driftwood.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can offer.

Yes,but all Africans are aggressive. Some same you should overcrowd the tank to avoid them going after each other and killing one by one.

not all there are some who are more aggressive then others.. And yellow labs are less aggressive then the EB johanni and bumblebee cichild..

Yes but as you add more fish you might need to rearrange the tank t create new territories so the established fish don't attack the new fish. Good luck!

The one with a giraffe pattern sounds like it could be a nimbochromis livingstonii

That's him.

Thanks for the advice, Giz. Hopefully next weekend will be nice enough to head down to the river to collect more rocks to make new territories.

So what would you cichlid guys & gals suggest for bottom dwellers? Could I add a couple african brown ghost knives? Or would they get bullied?
