ive got:
4inch blue gill
2 inch green sunfish :naughty:
5 inch oscar.

wht type of set-up would be best for theese three fish?

what size tank (i want some kind of catfish to go along with them, maybe a marbled sailfin achara cat?)

what type of cover? should i go with dense plants in the courners and open space in the center, or should i do drift wood and bigger rocks with floating live plants?

what filters would you recommend? im asking for types, names and models.

and would a canopy cover be better than a lid or does it matter?

Idk but u gotta be sure to keep the temp in the right range.

Ummm, in case you didn't know. Only one of the fish you listed is a cichlid and that would be the oscar. The other two belong to the sunfish family.

As for tank size...large, very large. Probably at least 150g mostly because the sunfish are extreamly aggresive compaired to an oscar. It probably won't work. As for temp, go for something in the mid seventies.

You have a couple of problems with that group. First, the 29 gallon tank isn't going to hold that oscar for very long. Also, the O will almost certainly grow faster than the sunfish, and may eat them when the size differential goes critical. In a large enough tank it could work, though I've no experience with the greenies, and I've heard they're very aggressive. Your water temp is going to end up being a compromise, as the sunfish like cooler temps than the O. Repeating my opening warning though, water quality is going to be your biggest problem with that size tank for those fish.
