CK eating

Ok,i just got this Clown Knife from petsmart thats about 3". I have did research on them and have decided i was ready. Anyway,i asked the lady there how long they been having them , she told me about a month. I thin asked what they were feeding them,she told me blood worms. Now after getting home with him and getting him all set up in his temp home, 125gal. he is out and about. Not hidding much at all. I try to keep the lights out and dim in the tank and room so to make him feel safe and all. I tried to feed him last night (frozen blood worms) with no luck. Not a worry did not realy think he would eat them. Now today,i tried blood worms,flakes,and silver sides with no luck. He does swim along the front the glass when im next to the tank.
How long will this go on? should i stop feeding him for a few days and try again? When should i start to worry about him not eating?

make sure water params are o.k. and give it a couple days (ie. dont feed...I know it's hard!!).he should eat then and also be aclimated to his new home.

I do weekly water changes,some times 2 a week weather it needs it or not Depending on my mood
Anyway, thanks for the help.. Ill not feed the tank (placo, catfish) for a day or 2. thanks again

well i did not feed for a day or so and still no eat. Just tried. nothing. I do hope this little guy dont dye, will go to petsmart were i got him and ask to buy the same thang thay feed theres/hem. thanks agan

I am going through the same thing but i did give mine some small guppies.. i think they need something or they will starve them selves to death.. i think once you have them acclimated to the tank and put some weight on them, then i think you can try holding back food.. i just would not do it right away.. they are stubborn and they want live food.. that is my opinion.. i do not believe in the starving method.. I think the slow method is alot safer.. i wish i could tell you i have been successful.. but it has been almost 2 weeks ..and i am still feeding guppys.. but it took me a while with my jag too..and now he is strictly a pellet guy..

thanks for the help.. I just tossed in a few baby mollies i have in the hatchery tank. Gow a few dozon babies in there now. Them things or some breeding fools,wish my wife would beed that much with me

They are nocturnal and will feed at night. Make sure it's lights out before feeding.

Hope all goes well with him eating//mine is ready to eat anytime..and mine is out swimming all the time haha.. this one is not just a night guy.. haha

i'm tryin to get mine of pellets and onto frozen foods n feeders!! and fark man! tis not easy!! i think he's picking off feeders during the night now!!

I just wanted to let you know for the very first time my CK ate pellets.. i bought these at the local Fish store...because the LFS guy said thats what he has been feeding the clown knifes in the store.. as soon as i got home i tried it.. and i was overwhelmed with joy when my guy ate 5 of them....hey yippee .. made my day.. maybe you should try these..tetra-color granules.............................. I am just in a awesome mood now!!
