CK eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well, as for as eating, i have been just droping in a cube of frozen blood worms in at night when i turn all the lights off in the room.
BUT, to make things bad, i think im fighting a case of ick toboot. I only had 4 fish in the tank, a CK, choc. pleco, white channal cat, and a baby pacu (grow out for pond), well the other day i seen the pacu had this flakey white slimy looking stuff all over him. So,i did a water change and added salt and raised temp up to 85-87. After a day,the pacu died, but all the other fish look and act fine. No signs of ick. Im still going to treet the whole tank with 50% water changes 2 times a week with salt and higher temps for a few weeks. i do hope the rest live though it.

I am very sorry to hear you lost your Pacu.. they are usually quite hardy so maybe there was something else besides going on with him..how big was he? I hope everyone else ventures through it okay.. sounds like you are doing everything right.. and you have my best wished for success.

oh he was only about 3" and was new. I was going to try to grow it out abit for a pond my mom has, i know i should have not done it , they realy need to be in schools of 3 or more.
Anyway, its been going on 2 days sence i lost the little fella and have raised the temp and added salt. The CK,pleco, and channal cat are all looking fine and doing there thing. How long should i keep the temp and salt up? Also,i use a pair of gloves to do tank work. These i use in all my tanks, it should be ok if there out and dried for a few days before i stick them in another tank right?

My clown knife only eats pellets.....he's only 7 inches
