no they got along well the small one was just too timid and didnt get his fill before the food was all gone

You have to consider it's eating habits as well as its activity level.
For instance, I've talked to people who keep Senegal Bichirs and have noticed little growth in say, half of a year, where in my case with my Senegal, it's almost tripled it's size within the span of 7 months due to heavy eating and healthy water.
There can be many other factors though.

Hey Powrisal I see you're in Cincinnati - have you tried feeding your fish any cicadas??? Some people in the aquarium society said they make great fish food!

I'll post pics of my other one I just sold, he was around 14 inches. And I have a gold now I'm working on growing out who's around 8 inches. I love my knifes.
