he is about 4". he is very active, but just doesn't want to eat what im giving him. again tho i havn't tried to feed him very much at all. i was thinking about getting some live ghost shrimp to see if he would eat those but the LFS was out. i got after i got fish food so i have no other food besides bloodworms and tropical fish flakes.

I personally don't like feeding live anything so I got mine on pellets right away. He was four inches when I got him, and now a month later he is just over five. I feed New Life Spectrum large formula pellets, shrimp pellets, chunks of frozen tillapia (thawed), chunks of frozen raw market shrimp (thawed) and occasionally frozen bloodworms and krill which he doesn't quite like as much.

how can i change his diet? should i just keep giving him stuff until he eats something?

I started him on pellets right away, though he didn't eat the first day. If he is hungry enough, he'll eat it. Mine is a super pig, seems to eat anything. He is more of a bottom feeder, he scours the substrate looking for food, so I just make sure I drop enough pellets or other food in there for him and the two bichirs to make sure they all get some. Once in a while he will come and eat pellets from the top, but not that often.

He seems to be fairly shy, stays in his corner most of the time, comes out more at night.

mine swims around day and night, i just haven't tried to feed him anything new yet. he is all over the tank, and he sometimes looks like he's looking for food, but when i feed him he doesn't eat

Looks to be a regular CK from what I can tell. If it is a RCK, the care is the same. Feeding is simple. If you want to get it off live, starve for a day and throw in some frozen bloodworms. It may not take it right off the bat, but give it some time...it'll take it.

its been three days and unless he's eating very little amounts, he hasn't eaten, his stomach seems empty but i will try it when i get home.

 Realize also that most are nocturnal feeders to start out. After they're comfortable you might be able to adjust feeding time but for now try feeding after lights out. As stated, give a day or two on the diet change from the guppies to whatever. I made my change early so now they take pellets, frozen, freezedried & of course live. "T"

i got him eating! he is eating lights on or off, and eats alot when he does, there has been a huge weight lifted of my chest, i feel so much better. thanks alot guys
