do you think that clarias could survive for a few days in cold water? my freinds heater has broken and he cant get anew one for a few days?

Yes, but many people in South Florida have them.....in the canals behind their houses! Not legal to move them alive.

does he have a portable electric heater for the room to keep it at least room temperture? why can't he get one?
