In regards to my previous thread, I think the clarius is probably batrachus.

I didn't think so because it is brown, has a broad, flat head and a long feathery body.

But I've now seen batrachas on google that look similar, so maybe.

Could also be fuscus.

Has anyone kept one? HOw aggressive and predatory are they? I really like this one, it seems quite active too.

Only the second time I've seen one for sale in this country.

Ive kept a walking catfish for many years and he killed a snakehead that was about the same size as him, 2 large plecos that were much bigger than him and a lemon cichlid.....i feed mine pellets, prawn and live fish.

no WAY, he killed a SH and 2 plecos?

How? Their mouths don't look designed for biting, only swallowing. I'm surprised.

Is it a fun fish to keep?

I had one very bad experience with that fish they eat like pigs and crazy as hell lost several fish. They do most of their damage at night constantly picking on their tankmates till they get exhausted from like of no rest then they rip them apart at the fins.A fish to be kept by itself if you dont believe then goodluck you been warn.

thanks for the information guys, it's about 6 inches and in with my jardini and peacock bass and bichirs.

So far no problem, but if it does cause problems I know I can just put it with my killer albino channa :D

I dont really know how mine killed them as well.... he was saparated from the other mates by 2 tank dividers and he swam thru both of them one night and all that was left of his tank mates were carcasses with huge holes in their stomachs spilling out all the insides.

yes he is alone now and hes stunted as well.. not sure if it was because i didnt give him a large enough tank last time of fomr injuries..... they were about 12-15 inches except for the cichlid who was smaller by about 2 inches.
