Clarius Batrachus - who has one?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've heard conflicting things about clarias, some people say they are killers, and others have successfully kept them with other fish without a problem.

yes sg, that was your feeder catfish wasn't it? :D hahaha

You know the irony is, your "feeder catfish" in singapore is a hard to get walking catfish here, and I paid £5 for the snakehead and £10 for the walking catfish :D

my god.

Was it sold as a feeder catfish?

The one I bought is only the 2nd one i have seen for sale here in the UK.

It cost me £10, which is about 25 dollars in your currency hahahaha

And it's 6 inches.

He's doing fine actually SG, he's a really cute fish.

He's about 4.5 inches - is this past that sensitive stage? And why are baby micros sensitive? What often happens to them?

He's very placid so far, just hangs out at the top with my peacock bass and senegal bichir. Nobody bothers him either, not even my thick 7 inch jardini.

He's been nailing live river shrimp, frozen bloodworm, and chopped fresh prawn.

I'll try and take a crappy phone pic of him in a bit :)

here is my killer albino channa, the photo has come out terrible because there is only a faint blue light on the tank.

Nice to see your micro, he's cute!

I have no idea at what size they "de-sensitive". My guess is maybe 7 or 8 inch, when they turn from "cute-looking" to "evil-looking". Just my guess. I think at >13" when they lose their double stripes and gain those nice "tattoo patterns", they are pretty much "in-destructible". Again, just my own guess. :)

And they eat a lot at this stage. Incredible appetite, goes hungry real quick.

Take good care of him, love to see him grow BIG!!
