Well, it's been several months since I last provided an update on Clark. He's absolutely thriving and enormous (for a Cryptoheros). He's pushing over 6" now and 1.5" thick! . He won't even be a year old until September. He truly reminds me of a "mini" version of all the Amphs that I've kept over the years. He's pretty docile and spends most of his time cruising around the community tank. He's far more interested in food than he is bothering his tankmates. Clark is without a doubt one of the coolest Cichlids I've kept over the last 30 years. I hope you enjoy the update.

For those curious, here’s a picture of him back in late September (2021). He’s around 1.25” here. That said, he’ll likely be hitting the 1 year mark in August. I grew him out as part of a group. His growth was existentially faster than the others, hence the reason I kept him and donated the others. As I said, he’s a tanker, especially for a fish from the Crypto genus. I’d imagine he likely won’t get too much bigger in TL, but will continue to “beef out” as he ages. Fun stuff…

Very nice fish regardless, so you got the fish about a year ago.. got it, for a fish to grow to it supposed maximum size in less than a year is unheard of..unless a dwarf species…

I’m inclined to agree. It’s atypical for a fish to reach it’s maximum (or atleast close to it’s maximum) size in a year. Regardless, it’s been a fun process to watch.
