Hey everyone
Got a small problem I think. I have a full grown clarkii clown that was given to me along with a brown tang, a squrille fish. the squrrille I turned into my Lfs already and a nice carpet anemone. The thing is I had 4 peppermint which I blamed the the squrille for eating so when I took him to the Lfs I got 5 more peppermint shrimp and two skunk shrimp which as all vanished. The clarkii is the only thing I see in my tank that can eat it I'm thinking and was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue. Other fish I have is 2 skunk clowns aprox an inch long. Yellow tang, brown tang, yellow tail damsel, mandarin goby and a lawnmower blenny. I have trouble with atipsia which is why I had peppermint shrimp. Done an excellent job with them getting them again now since the peps were destroyed

If I understand correctly, you have a carpet anemone. I would blame him. Skunks are super passive clowns.

Strangely enough my skunk clowns don't be around the carpet anemone. Only the clarkii clown is around the carpet anemone.

the carpet anemone is what is eating your shrimp. I had a mystery anemone back in the day make fish disappear.

I donno about the nem... its possible that it is the nem... but its also possible its the Clarkii or the skunks, Clowns are carnavors, and pepermint shrimp dont fit into the "protected" cleaner shrimp catagory, so its entirely possible that the clowns would pick them off. How big are the clowns? and how big were the pepermints?

The clarkii is about 4 inches and the skunks are about an inch. I had shrimp in with the skunk clowns already. The peppermint shrimp was not very big. An inch if that. But the skunk shrimp were almost full grown. My clarkii really likes to feed the carpet anemone so I'm now thinking It was probably a tag team going on. Cause I really think the shrimp would avoid the anemone if left alone. Really like to get the peppermint shrimp to stay and control my atipsia problem before I transfer all this to my 135 gal from a 55 gal which I got going through cycling now

It's highly likely that like you said, that eaither the clarkii ate them himself, or he fed them to the nem. Maybe try Berghia to control the aiptasia?
