Thats because it wasnt filmed specifically for 3D like Avatar was. It was transferred after the fact to keep up with the sudden fad. Hopefully 3D ticket sales will be low and the fad will die or producers will do it 3D from the ground up like they're supposed to.papawoody;4041982; said:

I give this movie a 6/10. I was a bit disappointed. I'll explain as best I could without spoiling for those who havent' seen it.
I'm a huge fan of the original. It was an epic movie, a true classic and was awesome at the time it came out
This new one, I was so pumped to see it, but like someone already said, it wasn't made with the special 3D cameras or whatever so it didn't have the same effect like Avatar did. I didn't realize this until after I saw it which kind of pisses me off because they are just trying to make extra $$ by making it available in 3D post filming.
A lot of the scenes seemed rushed to me and I didn't get why they even put in the desert creatures? They were so random and pointless really. I am disappointed in the Medusa scene, the original was way more creepy and I think they failed to recapture that in her. and they left out the fight scene with the 2 headed dogs. Was also disappointed in the ending, it was kind of anti climatic for me,.......... maybe I was just expecting too much.
There were a few things that changed in the storyline and characters which I'm ok with since they do that with remakes. They pretty much touched on everything as a whole compared to the original but it just didn't live up to it for me.

I pretty much agree with what Svang said above.I was in elementary school when the original came out and that might have been the last time I saw it but I sure did'nt remember those desert people being in the story.svang55;4044781; said:

and i don't like what they did with Calibos, his whole look was way better in the original. He actually was that one King in the new movie but in the original movie that King got killed by Zeus.
I saw this as a kid too, and Calibos and Medusa scared me.
overall I recommend it, but i'd say don't expect too much. if you're a fan of the original you have to see it regardless.
