Classroom Setup

Hey Everyone,

I'm a 6th grade science teacher. I already have a class red ear slider that was a "rescue". My question to you is that I have a 40 gallon breeder which is empty. What do you think is the best biotype/fish/setup I could set up for my classroom.

Things to consider:

what fish would be the most interesting to a 12 year old?

the setup would have to be good for long weekends on its own

the setup would have to be broken down and taken home over the summer

I see your point. But won't that be really difficult to move at the end of the year? I was thinking a fish with a personality might be fun for them

Pair of convicts or kribs. maybe something else... all cheap easy to breed fish. that comm well with their fry. or a single med sized cichlid. maybe an ebjd or firemouth.. ect.

+1 with the convicts, super hardy fish and the breeding/raising fry might be an interesting project for the classroom

Maybe not the most educational, but man would I have loved to watch one of those eat in 6th grade! (this is probably not actually a good suggestion)

Planted community could be cool. If you do that, put some shrimp in there!
