i run everything through the sanitize cycle in my dishwasher it takes about two hours and depending on the thickness of the rock or whatever it is sometime ittakes that long to cool down

I bought mine... let my kids hammer them them... Tons of fun and they loved being involved.. Then just put them in... Watched the nice bubble from the trapped air.. Guess what ? No problems... Did my whole 40 g. for under ten bucks with assorted sizes.. Love em'
One thing, especially with large mouthed catfish, do not use shards small enough to swallow, they will. Also it is a good idea to use some fine -medium grade sand paper and "break" the edges of freshly broken pots, otherwise you risk a startled fish getting a nasty gash
just be sure to soak it or you can just wash it out if youre ok with the small stream of bubbles that will seep from the pot once submerged in the tank
