Clean filters

Ammonia generally means you don't have enough bio-media for the amount of fish in your tank. So either get bigger canisters or add more canisters to your aquarium.

I clean the canisters once every 3-4 months, and the HOBs I rinse the filters once a week.

If its ammonia as well, could be an indication of needing more water changes

I pretty sure you're thinking about nitrate... But to op why dont you keep your filters but invest in some higher quality media. But make sure all your pads are before your media. This ensures that you're media wont get clogged and prelong the life of the media.

I have a 125 gallon tank with 3 hw304b filters with one oscar and a hecklii and a pleco.

But your not answering the most important question, how much are you feeding? And ps you're not over stocked so i think your killing off your BB by cleaning it before they get a grasp of the amonia and nitrite. Just add some BB and problem solved.

I feed for couple mins till they are done eating. Than remove extra food. How would I kill off my bb

bb sticks to surfaces so even just rinsing sponges or bio media gently knocks off a decent amount of bb. If you do it to a extent the bb cannot catch up then your bb cant build up a strong healthy colony. And If the media even slightly dries up all the bb is dead within that media. Just add some bb like seachem stability and dont do water changes or clean filters for about a week or two. Then clean your filters one a month MAX. You're bb will be built up and your "eco system" will be perfect.
