tank is a 180 the clarius is messy also? :nilly:fuuuuuuuuuuu

there isnt much for choice around here. especially for size that i need.

But from what im hearing As much as i like the walking cat i dont think im going to get it then. Unless its cheap. lol

where are you in ontario, I know of a fish store in mississaga that has at least 1 syno largher then 6 inches, it looked close to 9 inches but conservatively definately no less then 6- 7 inches long, good price as well

2 oscars 8 inches both 1 jag 8 inches 1 dempsy 6 inches 1 convict 6 inches 1 id shark 12 inches

the clarius is 12 inches that i want..

If your tank is roomy, e.g., at least 250 gal, I think this combo could be tried but, truly, my cichlid experience is lacking. Clarias batrachus and IDS I know well.

Claras will be bad news for this tank. I suggest a featherfin synodontus MonsterAquariaNetwork app
I like the syno suggestion too. I also would like to understand what potential problems do you see with the C. batrachus? For my education, if nothing else, please. Thanks.

Jaguar catfish; Liosomodoras oncinus. If you think the oscars and jag are pigs, the clarius is on the next level.
Liosomodoras oncinus are definitely one of my favorites but because they hide so much, I don't know if they will stand up to the cichlids. But anyhow, I didn't notice any "messiness" from my walking cats. Mine inhale any and all foods. Unless you mean they produce a lot on the other end. I am guessing. It'd be nice to know what you mean.

I keep my jag cats with snakeheads, so I think they can handle cichlids; very durable. They're nocturnal so they clean up after dark and won't be bothered while the other fish are sleeping. Mine do come out during the day for feeding though.
And yes, I mean walking cats poop a lot hahaa. They can also out compete a lot of fish for food, although cichlids should be fine.
