PH is not a measure of water hardness. It's best to check your water report on how hard the water is or measure with a GH liquid test.

With more neutral PH, I'm going to guess the water is not that hard (low GH), and I would get a harem of redhead geos if you have the tank space.

So since it is considered moderately hard to hard, I don't see an issue now with a harem of firemouths in your tank vs redhead geos.
