Is there anything that eats algea that would be ok with a dovii. Mine is getting close to 8 inches. Currently in a 80 gallon. I have a bigger tank now but I'm moving soon so I don't wanna set it up yet. I've tried pleco and eclipse cats which are both now in different tanks the 1 lucky cat outta 4 that is. I scrub the tank pretty often but it never stops growing and it looks cappy in my tank. And its brown. Thought about trying apple snails but idk.

Striped Raphaels or Giant Raphaels, just make sure they are WAY too big for the Dovii to swallow

Nerite snails do a good job on algae, but you'd need a lot of them in an 80.

Try cutting down on lighting to help with the algae. Don't leave the lights on all day if you aren't home. Lights on a tank are more for you than they are for the fish.

If you're getting that much algae I'd definitely be cutting down on the lighting as mentioned above and possibly change your lighting spectrum. I run 10000K LED lighting probably 8-10 hours a day. And my pleco is on top of any algae growth. If/when I use 5500-7500k my tank will explode with brown algae cause of the high phosphates in my tap

Dovii have been know to kill plecos. I remember seeing a pleco bitten in half by a dovii on here. Most plecos don't solely eat algae.

Best for algae control is not a fish:

I think a stick is easier, my scrubbers are being a pain and I'm just using a cloth during WC atm
