Cleaner Sump Methods with drip plate

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I cut a fine foam sheet to fit the drip tray. I lay the foam in first and cover with felt from hobby lobby........
felt plugs up quickly until aquarium water is clean..just rinse and reuse both pads.....now I can go a week w/o cleaning pad

can you post some pics of what your talking about thanks

Ebay, you can find it there, look out though some people sell it and it has chemicals in it. Also any pond supply store would have it

okay so i use this stuff http://cgi.ebay.com/Shaped-Aquarium...863?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3367f8cd6f but i think what i want to do now is put this stuff http://cgi.ebay.com/Aquarium-pond-f...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item950364a8fb on top of my drip plate , then on top of that add this stuff http://cgi.ebay.com/Large-White-Sup...172?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45fb3594ec and on top off that this stuff http://cgi.ebay.com/Shaped-Aquarium...863?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3367f8cd6f so it goes from thickiset to thinest do u think this is good or is there a simpler thing , and what this clog thanks

i have a durso standpipe and it can clog

Try some polyester sheeting. The thin stuff not the batting. Somewhere around 100 micron should give you the results your after.

I had the exact same issue with my sump. I tried a few different types of filter floss on top of my drip tray and was never happy with the results. I re-designed my sump so I could use filter socks. 100 micron keeps the water clear and there is no bypass unless the sock is completely clogged.
