i bought a cleaner wrasse yesterday........now hes laying on his side and looks to be breathing heavy........but i read that they like to play dead and lay on the bottom........should i be worried?

If it is breathing heavily, then yes. The biggest problem with cleaner wrasse is that they are tough to feed. It is one of my goals to successfully keep one of these, although the task is difficult.

Did you drip acclimate it?

i added water slowly...........it was fine.........the thing is my other two fish are breathing real heavy too.....but they are still swimming around

Do a water change.

Sounds like massive stress. What is your salinity?

What's your setup? In the case that it's not the salinity or anything like that that's the problem you may not have enough disolved oxygen in your water. Saltwater doesn't hold much oxygen and if you don't have enough water circulation your fish might not be able to breathe good.

Check your powerheads and anything else you're using for circulation to make sure they're running good.
