The first tank I did it look like that. You need to let the wd40 sit for at least 24 hours. Then it just comes of. Nice tank by the way.

Also thanks for the idea on how to soak that via the tape by the way! That's a great idea. I did the same for taping off for paint. I had not thought of that for soaking. Great idea

Browsing through old threads and came across this. I just dealt with this myself for the first time.I tried everything also with no results. Then I remembered my uncle using an eraser wheel at his body shop for removing old decals. I got one and the thing worked wonders. Goes in a drill and really takes the effort out of the job. I wish I thought of this before I spent 2 days on other methods.

Great idea. I wish I would have known about that a while back. I would have saved a few days as well
