Cleaning old aquarium?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like to allow everything to completely dry out for 48 hrs after cleaning with bleach. Then refill and start over with Prime/Safe to neutralize the oxidizing agent. Peroxide should be fine as well, as previously mentioned, but personally I feel better after allowing a complete drying period before placing the tank, filters etc back in action.

I put all old equipment out on my side patio, which is a total oven in the summer, and I let It Bake out there in the 100°F sunshine for days.

That Desert Sun will bleach the hide right off your bones.

Hmmm... ? I may already be ok then cuz it's been sitting in the uninsulated garage in a summer of worse than usual California heatwaves. We hit 110 more than once and the garage is always quite a few degrees warmer than the air...

I'll peroxide the heck out of it anyhow but I'm less concerned
