Fill the bathtub, throw in python and some bleach make sure you get the water in the hose let sit.
Let out the water and run clean water threw the hose till you are sure you got it all out.
I have had my python about 15 years and do this from time to time keep it clean.

A new hose at h depot will run about $40

Oh. Then try to find the nylon bore brush. Made by "Kleen Bore"

I say clean it like a shot gun! Works great just soak it first like a day.

Why clean it?

If the hose was used for anything other than water, like oil changes or something, pitch it.

If the hose was used just for water and it's green or brown but still flows water why do you care? I don't think the algae will hurt the fish. Dirt wont hurt the fish. Damn I wish I had extra time like that :)

High 5 to the guy that came up with the vacuum idea to suck a string through the hose then pull some kind of brush or rag to clean the hose. Neat idea!

Personally I wouldn't waste my time cleaning it, but you guys are coming up with some great ideas. What the hell, it's a challenge, and a challenge is very hard to back away from!
