Not sure if this is where i should post this, but i have been having issues trying to clean my python hose system that i use to clean my tanks. I have two 35' hoses that need desperate cleaning. I have tried using a wall snake which does not work super well but it gets the job done and takes a while! I have tried a bucket full of bleach but that just seems to bleach the tubing until the next cleaning. Has anyone else come across this? my hoses are BLACK from junk! tried calling the company but no one answers my calls or my emails...

IDEAS?

Thanks!!

if its like the algae that I get built up in my python you can try this:

long piece of twine or rope small enough to run through ur python with water flow then once it gets to the other end cut off the water flow. tie a small bit of fabric to one end of the string and pull through..just make sure the fabric isnt to big..its basicly a bore snake like u would use to clean a shotgun barrel.

I don't use a python anymore because it broke and the pet smart by me only has the aqueon, but when I did have a python Id close off one side of the hose(the vacuum or suction side) fill the hose with a water bleach solution, close the other side and let it sit for a day or so in the garage. Then i'd take it outside, drain the bleach, connect to the sink and let the water run through it for awhile(usually hot water). Worked like a charm

All those are great ideas and similar to what i have tried. It is the algae and other that builds up in the tubes. Not a huge deal but it should be cleaned once in a while. I have tried soaking it for a week in 10% bleach and ran a power head hooked up to it for about 10 mins each day. Didn't do anything. Ive done the twine in a similar fashion, i think thats the only way that really works on it for me. Im sure Python got sold.

when I bought my 125 it came with a python and it had been sitting for quite a while so there was a lot of buildup in it and I had to figure it out on my own which wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do
