i had the exact same thing happen to me about a year or so ago with another tank.. you know at petsmart they have those 'cheap-ass fizzing tablet medications' hanging in the cardboard boxes- jungle i think is the manufacturer - well i tried the algae ones right off the bat, and could literally see them working within 15 mins or so. it was a 90 gallon. for a cheap thing it's worth a shot..

my tank has been more yellow/green since i switched to prime... dont really know if the prime has anything to do with it though cuz a few other things changed around the same time...
