How long is the light?

A few inches under 5 feet. If you use the legs it comes with you can get a few more inches out of it.

Hmmm, on my 135 gal i'm using a modified 48" dual bulb fluorescent garage light.. not the prettiest thing in the living room.. Does this light model accept regular fluorescent bulbs or is it the compact flourescent type?

This is what the box looked like. I no longer have it. I dont know too much about lighting(which is why my plants were plastic). What I do know is my setup came with a light and when I threw this bad boy in instead, it pretty much lit up the room.

First off...let me just say I'm a F*CKING IDIOT! I dont know what the hell I was doing back when I measured this light but I was TOTALLY OFF! Its 40 inches. My appologies to Duc for coming down and me being a screw up for not realizing it ahead of time. When I get back in the game...you will receive a "freebee" from me!
