It just takes a lot of soak time and heavy water changes. It will clear up in it's own time.

Don't spend a lot of money, this will clear up over time. I keep a couple pieces of drift wood in a garbage can for a few months before I use them. I drain the can every week or so and each time there's less and less tannins in the water.
