clearing up pond

i can not get my pond clear at all. first i should tell you a have a 800 gallon pond that has been up for just over a year. so far this spring i have taken out all the dead leaves and did a 40% water change. i have also added bacteria and algaecide but the water is still brownish.

yeah more info would help.

It sound like you need to do a whole water change if you want the water to be crystal clear, the brown would be from the tannins from the leaves.

Yeah there is a filter. A complete water change wont hurt my fish?????

Do you have any plants in it? Try adding some water lettuce or hyacinth.

try adding plants and a UV filter, how heavily is it stocked?

It has a uv light and only has bout 25 fancy goldfish. As far as plants it has some cattails and lillies.

254 fancy gold fish seem like a bit much to me, what does your filtration consist of? i would try and get some water hyacinth, they provide good shade and grow like weeds

I have bioballs filter media and I just added some carbon. I also got some barley straw but now in my filter.
